Yet another brilliant Friday lunchtime distraction.

Caithlin Moran in the Times may argue that the departure of Jonathan Ross "instantly makes the BBC look weaker and duller" and that "you can judge the strength of any organisation by its ability to take on board and utilise eccentrics." But here are two reminders why, if the Tories are elected and decide to decimate the BBC for the benefit of Rupert Murdoch, we may never again see the like of Newsnight eccentric Jeremy Paxman.
